new silicone babies in progress!

I know my posts here are few and far between. It’s a bit of work to post on here when it’s so much easier posting on Facebook. I’m horrible. (For my Facebook link- click on the Facebook icon on the bottom of the page.)

Unlike a lot of sculptors, It takes me forever to sculpt a new sculpt. This coming from someone who used to be so impatient on my sculpting- it has evolved into constantly modifying sculpts until finally- some months later, I am satisfied and I finally start molding it. This little one is dear to my heart because it has lifecast hands and feet of my son. Her head and body is entirely sculpted by me, as well as molded and poured into a very soft Eco 20 platinum silicone. She has armatures in her arms for posing and will be on eBay when completed.

Here are photos of her fresh out of the mold:

The first photo is more accurate in coloring. Isn’t she precious? I love her already. I’m hoping my painting will do her justice!

Another project I am working on slowly is a sculpt from Shauntay Burris, and is being produced into silicone by yours truly. This little sphinx kitten is so adorable and is completely seamless. She has armatures in her head and front legs for posing capabilities. This little one will be available as blank unpainted kits as well as painted finished kittens. They will be for sale one at a time as they are poured and buyers will be notified via my newsletter: Click here to join newsletter!

Isn’t he adorable? Pricing and info to come soon! He will be a very limited edition at about 20 so if you are interested sign up for the newsletter!

Xiao Bao Full Body Silicone Baby Prototype

SO sorry its been so long since I’ve been posting on here!  I’m more active on Facebook, as it’s much faster to post up on there- and less to type. 🙂

While I have been away I have sold my first prototype of my own sculpt that I sculpted, molded, poured, painted and rooted myself (that’s a mouthful)!

Introducing little Xiao Bao.  Her name means “Little Precious”.  She has a ball jointed neck, armatures in her arms that were custom made so that you can’t feel them. Her mouth is open and fits a pacifier or bottle. 🙂

This particular little one has gone home to her mommy in France, and since then I have finished one other for a lovely mommy in the US.

I’m currently working on the little boy version right now, as well as a  one of kind biracial baby boy that should be coming soon also. 🙂

I’ve also had SO many people asking about how to paint a silicone baby that I am now selling pigments in the shop, and will be working on a tutorial on how I paint my silicone babies so that it lasts and does not peel or rub off.

You can see what’s available in the shop.  🙂

Much to come soon!

Elianna chubby silicone baby girl in progress

Took a few tries, but this girl is perfect!! Sculpted by my dear friend Bonnie Sieben as a portrait of her granddaughter and poured into a squishy Eco20 with a platinum silicone foam squishy belly for a more realistic feel and lighter weight.

This chubby girl is now going to Kristie Carwithen of the Dainty Loft for her painting!! Anything that girl touches is gold. Last prototype she painted sold for a record $11,109!! Cannot wait to see what she does with this beautiful girl!!
